Change the Financial Year from Gateway of Tally

When you want to carry forward your company to the next financial year, you can change the financial year/books beginning from dates by clicking F2: Period from the Gateway of Tally .
The ledger closing balances for the previous year will be carried forward to the next financial year.

• Go to Gateway of Tally > F2: Period .
• Provide the starting date of the financial year in the From field.
• Provide the ending date of the financial year in the End field.
• Press Enter to save.

Change the Current Date in Tally

On Pressing F2: Date , the current date can be changed in Tally.

This is useful when a user wants to,
1. Record a predated dated or postdated voucher entry.
2. Alter a voucher's date.

Note : the current date cannot be later than the financial year ending date or earlier than the financial year beginning date.
